Abstract
One of the most important songbooks of Catalan poetry of the seventeenth century was one entitled Curiositat Catalana. Unfortunately, the book was mutilated by an owner and only the indexes and two plays by Francesc Fontanella remained (one of the plays being incomplete). Despite the loss of the texts, the fact that the indexes record the authorship of many of the compositions adds significance to songbook because it serves as an inventory of Catalan Baroque poets and as a witness to the vitality of poetry in the Catalan language, something especially useful as it is a generally less known epoch. But after the first mention we have of this manuscript, 1859, the book disappeared and was not recovered until a few years ago. Finding it allows us to reconstruct for the first time the order and characteristics of the codex. In this article, an examination is also made of the attributions the codex makes, which are often not exact.
