Abstract

The present paper sets out to cast doubt upon J.J. Moreso's strategy for rejecting the possibility of genuine, irresolvable and faultless disagreements in his discussion of Vittorio Villa's view. The argument here advanced targets Moreso's conception of presuppositions, by suggesting that the excessively broad scope of that conception leads to confusing authentic presuppositions with any possible ground in favor of an affirmation. This produces an inescapable tension which undermines the foundations of such a rejection strategy.
