Art Education and Interdisciplinarity

Research line: Impact

Description of impact

Our researchs are based in art teaching didactics, which can be deployed in specific aspects (teaching movement and dance, teaching visual culture) as well as transversal ones (teaching space, languages, communication) in relation to teaching and learning sensitivity, representation and creativity. We investigate in curricula, texts, in educational technologies and especially in classrooms and schedules, through analysis of teacher’s gestures, collaborative and communicative interaction, as by compared methodology. We investigate both the interdisciplinary connections between the arts and between the arts and other skills and disciplines, and in this sense we are particularly interested in what the arts can do to contribute to general teaching competences and habilities (teachers) and to holistic, cognitive, creative social and emotional learning (learners).
