title = "Parity relations based on elimination theory for fault detection in a bioprocess",
abstract = "Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) is an important issue for safe operation in industrial processes. The FDI problem in nonlinear systems is studied within the scope of the analytical redundancy concept. The algebraic approach of parity relations based on the elimination theory is used to generate the analytical redundancy relations. A new method based on resultants is proposed for structuring these relations. The approach is applied to an alcoholic fermentation process.",
